Meet the Doctors
This celebration honors the academic achievements and journeys of three members of the Colbert Cohort.
Each honoree brings a unique story, discipline, and legacy to this shared milestone.
HONOREE
Dr. Danielle N. Colbert
Dr. Danielle Colbert’s educational journey is a powerful reflection of perseverance, purpose, and commitment to student success. She began her higher education journey at Bluegrass Community and Technical College, where she earned her Associate of Science degree.
She went on to earn her Bachelor of Liberal Studies from the University of Kentucky. Danielle continued her studies at Morehead State University, earning a Master of Arts in Adult and Higher Education. Her graduate preparation helped shape her passion for supporting students, strengthening academic pathways, and advancing meaningful educational outcomes.
She earned the Doctor of Education in Interdisciplinary Leadership Studies from Spalding University. Her doctoral capstone project, “What Does College Readiness Look Like? Student Affairs Professionals’ Perspectives,” explored how student affairs professionals define, understand, and support college readiness.
Her journey reflects excellence, resilience, and purpose-driven leadership.

Danielle N. Colbert, Ed.D
Rev. Dr. Kimberly L. Colbert
Rev. Dr. Kimberly Colbert’s educational journey reflects determination, growth, service, and a lifelong commitment to helping others move forward. She began her academic studying Biblical Studies at Boyce College. She went on to attend Sullivan University, where she earned both an Associate of Arts in Business Management, a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration with a concentration in Management, and a certificate in Conflict Resolution.
Rev. Dr. Colbert later pursued her calling to support individuals and families more deeply by earning the Master of Marriage and Family Therapy from Campbellsville University. This preparation strengthened her work as a therapist, minister, trainer, and practitioner committed to healing, development, and wholeness.
She earned the Doctor of Education in Interdisciplinary Leadership Studies from Spalding University. Her doctoral capstone project, “Balancing Leadership and Life: How Women in Executive Roles in Kentuckiana Non-Profits Practice Self-Care,” explored how women nonprofit executives navigate leadership responsibilities while practicing self-care.
Her journey represents faith, perseverance, legacy, and generational excellence.

Kimberly L. Colbert, Ed.D

Dr. Brandon J. Colbert
Dr. Brandon J. Colbert’s educational journey reflects a deep commitment to communication, leadership, ministry, and organizational transformation. He earned his Bachelor of Arts in Communication from the University of Kentucky, where he began developing the foundation for his work as a speaker, leader, and strategist. He later earned his Master of Science in Organizational Communication and Leadership from Murray State University, further strengthening his understanding of leadership, organizational culture, and effective communication.
Brandon continued his academic journey at Spalding University, where he earned the Doctor of Education in Interdisciplinary Leadership Studies. His doctoral capstone project, “Psychological Capital Priorities for Volunteer Leadership from the Perspective of Black Greek Organization Members,” examined how members of Black Greek organizations understand the psychological resources needed for effective volunteer leadership.
His academic journey reflects faith, discipline, purpose, and a lifelong commitment to leading and serving well.
